My Elizabeth+James boyfriend blazer, black skinny jeans, any Club Monaco racerback silk tank and pumps. What are you most looking forward to sporting in Park City? Wharton's Resident Bag Lady
Who? Melissa Shin WG '12 (an entrepreneur and former employee of Coach).
What she's wearing: Green Chaiken coat circa 2008. the "muppet vest" or the "boa" as described by Kit Cutler in Dec 2010 (really, could YOU forget such an atrocious mislabel?) is from Ethic on Borgo Albizi in Florence. Got it while studying there in 2004. Miss it, love it, take me there k thanks. Trousers by Adriano Goldschmied. Flats by Emporio Armani. Necklace by Vale<Necklace = Vale-- I've known Eva + Ava (sisters) for years. They have awesome stuff. Weekend bag by Coach (Just can't seem to get away...). Best ever accessories purchase? I used to dream of being a jewelry designer - like our glamorous Shuchi Pandya - and was SO into accessorizing. Now, I prefer simple [yet awesome] staples like diamond studs and my watch, which I bought with my first bonus. It has been nearly 5 years and I still love it. What makes for a good bag? Where do I even begin? I am extremely critical of handbags and am in fact trying to solve the everyday handbag problem with the line I'm launching this summer. I have yet to find a handbag that works for me, instead of making me work for it. Handbags make us feel disorganized (where are my keys??). Handbags make us feel weak (why is this so heavy??). An expensive handbag makes us worry (will I ruin it in the rain??). Handbags give us more stress than comfort. My handbag line will feature functionality, organization, durability, personalization, luxury design and high-end craftsmanship at an extremely attractive pricepoint. Right now, my fantastic team and I are doing market research to figure out exactly what women want. Oh, will anyone ever really know? photo credit: Becca Aronson |
Sweater Dressing
Who? Mina Egan WG '13
What she's wearing: Ralph Lauren dress. If she could, she would revamp my winter wardrobe to include a closet full of sweater dresses! Who is your style icon? Audrey Hepburn. Classic, elegant, sophisticated, feminine—she’s just the best. What is your favorite item in your closet? In one of my visits to Japan, my grandmother casually produced an oversized vintage Gucci shoulder bag from her closet that she had purchased in Paris in the 70s. She claimed she hadn’t used it in years and wondered if I wanted it. It’s an item I would never purchase for myself, but I can’t help but feel particularly cosmopolitan when I wear it. Plus, it has tremendous sentimental value. My grandmother was an incredible woman, and I love being reminded of her whenever I reach for her bag. If you could wear only one style of shoe for the rest of your life which would you choose? Well, at 5’ tall, I would have to go with a well-heeled shoe! I’d probably say a simple pump. I have a pair of Butter patent leather nude pumps that I could probably wear every day, no problem. photo credit: Becca Aronson |
Skirting the Issue
Who? Moran Amir WG '13
What she's wearing: For you faithful Whartorialist readers you may recognize this Vena Cava skirt from Moran's first appearance last fall, but a skirt repeat doesn't hold back this girl's style! White top by James Perse, Jacket Y-3 by Adidas, booties by Barneys NY. What is your go-to interview outfit? Depending for which industry I am interviewing! I have diversified a bit lately. If meeting with a luxury or branded retail company, I would outfit myself in something that acknowledged that brand in a subtle way, but also exhibited an immense amount of creativity, detail, and aesthetic sensibility. Lately, I have been interviewing for finance positions, leading me to cope with the idea of not wearing ripped jeans to work (as I once upon a time did) by buying sick tailored suits from Stella McCartney and Theysken's Theory. Park City is coming up, have you made any purchases for the trip? A new bathing suit. Going to sit in the jacuzzi with my friends and drink champagne. Who is your style icon? Karl Lagerfeld. Have you seen a man wear an outfit so many times and look so good as him? photo credit: Becca Aronson |
A Multi-Stop Shop
Who? Becca Aronson WG '13
Where? A 2 week cruise visiting Mexico, Guatamala, Costa Rica, the Panama Canal, and Colombia. Wharton style on vacation: Not much changes for Becca when she's away from the halls of Huntsman; she's still overdressed for most occasions... She also picked up some great local artisan finds while on her travels-a pair of brightly patterned oven mitts and a black jade ring from Guatamala, a hand woven cross-body bag from Columbia, and a volcano (ok no she left that one behind). photo credit: Julia Aronson |

Polished with a Pop of Color
Who? Ann Lee WG '13
What she's wearing: See by Chloe black dress, black textured blazer from a boutique in Korea, wine patent pumps by Prada, necklaces are her mom's (she's permanently "borrowing" them). Ann's style icon: Tough question -- there are so many stylish women out there! I love the clean elegance of Jackie Kennedy -- and I also love Audrey Hepburn's outfits, especially in Breakfast at Tiffany's -- I know it sounds so cliche, but I love the elegance and more demure fashions from different time periods. I also have an affinity for dresses and skirts -- I rarely wear pants, so anyone who frequently wears dresses, skirts, and more feminine outfits overall is a style icon in my eyes! What item are you looking forward to buying for fall? Fall and winter are not complete without a signature cashmere sweater -- I have staple cardigans and sweaters in my wardrobe, but I also like to pick up more unique pieces with more memorable details, like interesting buttons or trim. Fall has crept up on me this year, but I'll be looking for that special 'campus-appropriate' piece, since I'm back in school now! Favorite place to shop abroad? There is this adorable street in Seoul called Garosil filled with trendy coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques -- I would shop there frequently and pick up fun pieces that you just don't see in the US! That's where I got the blazer I'm wearing. photo credit: Becca Aronson |

Crew employee she is loyal to her brand), Espadrille wedges by Mymu, Orange strap watch by Cartier. Beauty item she can't live without: Dior lip reviver gloss. If Nanki was stranded on a desert island and could bring only 2 items from her closet with her, she would take: 1. A navy and white striped shift dress 2. A cashmere wrap cardigan Extra baggage: Also probably sunscreen (she likes La Roche-Posay), and a yacht so I could bring all my friends! And, you know, eventually leave the island... photo credit: Becca Aronson |
The Anti-Donnie Beamer
Who? Nimish Jain WG '13
What he's wearing: Banana Republic shirt, Kenneth Cole tie, Jeans by Donnie Beamer's tailor, blue Converse Chucks. Backpack, messenger bag, or brief case? Messenger bag. How would you describe your style? A mix between Alexander Foster's British look and a Bollywood leading man. Favorite item in your closet? Hmm that's a tough one. I don't own 40 suits and of the ones I do own none of them have a "made especially for Donnie Beamer" label... The real answer is sweatpants. Best men's fashion trend? I don't know about that, but I always thought the racing stripe on the side of tuxedo pants looks odd. photo credit: Becca Aronson |
All Tied Up
Who? Will Morel WG '13
What he's wearing: Shoes, belt, and dog print tie all by Salvatore Ferragamo. Suit by Jones NY, shirt by Charles Tyrwhitt, shades by Ray Ban. Crew Favorite item in her closet: Can I choose more than one? I have a treasure trove of jewelry and sparkly pieces. I love to layer them on to spruce up a basic outfit. Go-to shopping venue: I love to mix high and low so I would have to say Barneys, J. Crew, and Madewell. Best-ever vacation purchase: A fantastic beaded necklace I found at a flea market in Thailand! It was crafted by a tribe in Nepal and the clasp is made out of a native gold coin. photo credit: Becca Aronson |
"Trenditional" (Trendy meets Traditional)Who? PJ Jannuzzi WG '12
What he's wearing: Tweed blazer with camo arm patches by Michael Bastian. Red gingham shirt by Paul Smith. Cadet blue chinos and woven ribbon belt by Brooks Brothers. Wayfarers by Prada. Pilot’s chronograph watch by IWC. Where he gets his fashion advice: The only person whose style advice I consistently trust is my brother. Aside from him, I rely on stores to help showcase what is on trend and then mix and match current styles with traditional pieces or even mix trends. Occasionally I look to editorials to help give me ideas but I like to think I’m ahead of the curve. Favorite fashion faux pas: Square-toed, clunky shoes paired with ill-fitting suits. Guys, there is no excuse for either one of these. Feel free to reach out if you feel like you’re afflicted with this problem. It’s recruiting season after all. Put your best foot forward. photo credit: Mary Vecchione |
Double Take

Deepa's most recent purchase: A mini-finals induced Shopbop shopping spree featuring a chunky Cheap Monday sweater and a Parker pleated dress to infuse some more purple into my wardrobe. Nini's favorite designer: It's like picking a favorite child...Helmut Lang, Mark Fast, and Acne Favorite item in Deepa's closet: Not technically in my closet but my essie nail polish collection - it's the best way to bring a pop of color to any outfit and I have enough options that I could open my own nail salon. photo credit: Becca Aronson |
Tailored to Perfection
Who? Donnie Beamer WG '13
What he's wearing: Tailored suit by a shop out of Bangkok, Thailand that calls itself The Brioni Shop (no relation to the other Brioni brand). They make great suits. Put this nice stitching inside that says “Exclusively Hand Tailored for Donald Beamer”. Notice the red lining. I think that adds to the outfit. Brown leather shoes by Gucci. How many suits do you own and which is your favorite? I think I own around 14, but only wear half of them. This blue one I'm wearing is my favorite. Great color and fit, also one of my first tailored suits. Changed my life. Dress shoes: Brown or black? Depends on the outfit. A nice pair of brown shoes can really make an outfit pop, but it’s hard to find belts that match. You can never go wrong with black though. Do I need to give a decisive answer? photo credit: Becca Aronson |
Walk Tall...
Who: Belinda Wong WG '13
What she's wearing: Black pointy toe booties by Loeffler Randall, J Brand jeggings, black leather jacket by Theory, Zara white tee, grey infinity scarf from Urban Outfitters, glasses from a specialty eye wear store in Hong Kong What she can't wait to buy for winter: Coming from LA, Belinda is going to need some serious help keeping warm this season so she's looking to buy a snood or a big mink hat(!) Major difference between LA and Philly style? COLOR! LA girls wear a lot more bright prints and patterns, mostly with summery dresses. Philly hosts many more neutral colors (black, grey, navy). Favorite designer: Jason Wu Photo credit: Becca Aronson |
Experimental Chic
Who: Moran Amir WG'13
What she's wearing: Alexander Wang alpaca knit chubby overlaid on Club Monaco merino wool sweater, with Vena Cava silk skirt, J Crew oxford shoes, Stella McCartney bag Her style: In a word, eclectic. I wear everything from wrap dresses to leather pants to vintage. I like to bring disparate styles into dialogue...women's fashion offers too much room for experimentation to pick one narrow style! Favorite place to shop: Barneys Co-op, Gilt Groupe, Otte, NY consignment stores... and anything in Tokyo, best shopping ever! photo credit: Becca Aronson |
